Terms & Conditions of Service

1. Definitions

• We / Us / Our" refers to Walkers Auto Repairs LTD.

• You / Customer” refers to the owner or authorised keeper of the vehicle.

• Vehicle” refers to the motor vehicle presented for diagnostics, repair, or servicing.

2. Diagnostics

• Diagnostics will only be carried out with the customer's approval.

• Diagnostic labour is charged at £85 per hour plus VAT.

       Diagnostic charges apply regardless of whether further repair work is authorised.

3. Labour Rates

• Labour for repair, servicing, or other work is charged at £85 per hour plus VAT, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

• Labour charges are calculated based on time spent carrying out the work.

4. Payment Terms

• Workshop repairs:

  Full payment of the final invoice must be made before the vehicle is released to the customer.

• Mobile services:

  Full payment of the final invoice must be made before the vehicle keys are returned to the customer.

• We reserve the right to retain possession of the vehicle (mechanic's lien) until all outstanding amounts are paid in full.

5. Warranty Companies

• Where repairs are carried out in conjunction with a warranty provider:

• Walkers Auto Repairs LTD is not responsible for delays caused by warranty companies.

• This includes (but is not limited to) delays due to:

  •  Waiting for authorisation

  •  Email or communication delays

  •  Independent engineer inspections

•  The customer remains responsible for any costs not covered or delayed by the warranty company.

6. Cancellation of Work

• If the customer chooses to cancel work after it has commenced, the customer agrees to pay:

  • All labour carried out up to the date of cancellation

  • Any parts ordered or fitted

• Cancellation does not waive diagnostic or labour charges already incurred.

7. Late Payment & Storage Fees

• If payment is not made by the agreed due date:

•  A £50 late payment fee will be added to the outstanding balance.

• If the vehicle remains on our premises after payment is due:

• A storage fee of £10 per day will be charged until the vehicle is collected and the balance is paid in full.

8. Retention of Vehicle (Mechanic's Lien)

• In accordance with common law mechanic's lien principles, Walkers Auto Repairs LTD reserves the right to retain possession of the vehicle until all outstanding invoices, fees, and charges are paid in full.

• This includes labour, diagnostics, storage fees, and late payment charges.

9. Authority to Work

• By authorising diagnostics or repair work, the customer confirms they are the legal owner or have authority from the legal owner to approve work and charges relating to the vehicle.

10. Governing Law

• These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
